  This place needs some TLC. The owner takes no pride in ownership. The curtain on the sliding door had a hole the size of a football. The lock on the sliding door didn't lock but it was replaced while we were there. There are no "homey" touches such as mats to wipe the sand off your feet, no clock, no hangers, etc. The place was dirty when we arrived. The high point was the clean linens and towels. They were pre-wrapped and sealed. We were comfortable knowing that our bed was clean. The rental company did what they could. The trees at the steps to the patio were overgrown to the point of having to push them out of the way to climb the steps. We didn't complain but a maintenance worker noticed and they were trimmed immediately. The patio chairs had duct tape on the seats. This owner obviously is only interested in receiving rental checks. If you don't have high Hope's you won't be disappointed. The resort itself is wonderful and this villa is not a good example of the accommodations. We were down with friends and their place was lovely. Don't let this review stop you from visiting, just rent another place.

  We enjoyed our vacation at Lakewood. The rental property was a big disappointment. The beds were wore out, the floors made our feet black, the sliding glass door wouldn’t lock from the outside. We have stayed in four different villas. We will never rent 2917 again.

  Great location, campground well-maintained, beach access awesome, laundry facility top notch! The furniture in the unit could use updating (beds and couch sag), sliding glass door barely functional, outdoor chairs duct taped, no potholders. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan to return (to a different rental unit)! Highly recommend LCR for family fun!

  It was easy to make reservations, and the reservation clerk was very patient and helpful. I did fail to notice that this particular unit is "pet friendly", so there was some pet hair but that's my own fault. The unit was clean. All of the linens are shrink wrapped when you arrive, so you put your own sheets on the bed. I liked this because I knew without a doubt that everything was indeed clean. The property was maintained well. It could use some updates, but it served our needs well. We found the pictures on the website helpful in making our decision. There are dishes and very basic kitchen supplies available. We enjoyed the stay at Lakewood. We could easily walk to the beach, pool, coffee shop and trading post. They have golf cart rentals available, but we did not do that this time. I would recommend this property. It was a good location. The unit was a good value for the price. LCR provided good information at check-in as to how to leave the unit. They also have a drop box for the keys in the event you need to check out before the office is open. It took longer than I expected to get our security deposit returned, but we got it without having to call about it. Would certainly recommend Crabby Mike's restaurant. It is about $50 per person, but the food and selection is tremendous!

  All in all a great stay. However, the sliding glass door was hard to secure. The floors were quite dirty resulting in a quick trip to Wal-Mart to buy cleaning materials and a mop. Blue chair smelled of urine. Things to be expected of a pet friendly rental at season's end. Comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Will no doubt stay there again.

  This is our 5th annual vacation at Lakewood. We plan on spending our summer vacation every year here. Our kids always want to come back it doesn’t matter how old they get. We were pleased with our park model this year. The landscaping had taken over the porch some but we just cut it back it wasn’t a problem.

  Love the campground but house had some problems. Sofa was broken down and the floor was running down hill. Needs foundation fixed. Mattress was comfortable once you got in it but hard to get on. Very impressed with bedding sealed in plastic and it house was clean but needs updating.

  I have rented so many villa's over the years.
  This one is small but very nice inside. I loved the huge deck. Upon our arrival however, I pulled up and was very surprised. The grass was knee high in the yard, and the deck was covered in leaves. It looked as no one was there since fall. There was construction on the villa next door and the construction crew was using the grass in my area as a junk pile.
  I called to let them know that this was unacceptable. The manager of the campground came and agreed with me. She had a crew there in a matter of minutes to weedwack and blow the leaves off the deck. The construction crew came and also cleaned up the junk pile. I am pleased at how fast they responded, having said that I did loose an hour and a half of vacation time due to it not being ready. I would like to know if LCR even takes a look at things before your visit to make sure things like this does not happen. The villa did not have a pizza cutter nor pizza pan. No wine glass nor a corkscrew. The pots and pans are very old.
  The beds however are very comfortable. All in all it was a great vacation with my daughter. Oh, one last thing the outdoor pool needs to be just a little bit warmer, we did not get to enjoy it due to it being too cold.
