  This property has a lot of potential. For the price it could use a fresh coat a paint, fixing up of the holes in the walls, loose vents, and unsafe loose wall sockets. It also could use a really good deep clean as I felt it just wasn’t very clean during my stay. The location was perfect. We really enjoyed the covered deck although that was very dirty as well. Could not go outside without shoes because your feet would be filthy and black within seconds. Overall probably would not rent this property again unless it was improved.

  We had a great time again at Lakewood. First time that we rent a house. We had a lot to tools to cook (as opposed to the house my parent rent). Only negative comment would be the hole in the kitchen and in one of the room. The rooftop on the balcony is a must!!!

  All and all it was an amazing time. The staff at the visitor center was kind and caring. I love the campground itself and my favorite part was the crosses by the beach. There was only 2 things that were an issue. The first was the fact that I had to clean the villa when I arrived the dishes were nasty,the shower was molded in the cracks and the cabinets had food and dead bugs where they had not been wiped out and the trash cans were disgusting with food and liquid in the bottom both kitchen and bathroom. I cleaned it and went from there. I just didn't expect to have to do so when checking into the villa. I took several pictures so I could make you aware. The other thing is when they came to repair a lock they locked the door. When I borrowed a neighbors phone to call them I was told they would try to get someone because they were trying to go home for the day. After some time I had a neighbor drive me up get a key to unlock and take the key back. I know we all want to leave our jobs when we get off but the customer service in that incident was I believe to be handled very poorly. I would have been left in the cold if I hadn't made arrangements. I ended up with covid and strep and left a week early dropping my key in the drop box and notified front office. The beach is beautiful and the folks were amazing. Robbie and his team were the best. I will definitely be back hopefully next January. I love lakewood and had even considered purchasing if it were an option just researching a bit more after the cleanliness and being locked out issue.

  Great location and community. Rental needs some TLC. Pictures of rental are dated and did not get what the pictures conveyed. BUT it was everything we needed for a beach stay. Would go to community again but would look into another rental.

  My wife and I chose to spend time this year at our favorite family vacation destination to reflect on the last 55 years. Our stay at Lakewood Camping Resort was a wonderful experience. We camped there for nearly 40 years years while our children grew up and stayed in a rental for the first time in 2014. There is so much to offer that you don't really have to leave once you get there if you don't want to. The villa we stayed in was close enough to everything, especially since we rented a golf cart for the week. It offered what we needed for a nice home away from home. We really enjoyed the church service and High Stepping Country. We would highly recommend LCR Vacation Rentals and Lakewood Camping Resort for any family vacation.
