  Day of check in we noticed the trailer was warm thinking they just turned on ac, by bedtime the trailer was extremely warm. Temp was 85 degrees. We had to sleep in bedroom off the sunroom where the secondary portable unit could blow in the room. Called maintenance to come next day, manager just said the thermostat needed to be set at “auto” and never looked at ac unit. Husband knew enough about ACs to know the guy didn’t know what he was talking about. No change in temp all day...was still 85 degrees. Called office at 4 to request someone else to look at it. He came with a second portable and placed in the only window that wasn’t sealed shut, and called an actual AC repair tech who discovered the unit had frozen up. During day the trailer would get to 77 if you had kitchen lights on and ceiling fan off. Bathroom is extremely warm as there is no ventilation. Location was great, other than AC can’t keep up the place was fine.

  Was very disappointed in site #2618. This unit needed a complete makeover. The flooring in the entire villa was peeling up. the kitchen was very outdated,tired and very worn. the bathroom needed a complete makeover. The bathtub would not drain and we had to unclog with a plunger.

  We had a wonderful week in this unit. I’m very happy we were able to find a pet friendly rental that slept 6 on pretty short notice. It was very close to the ocean and not far from the pool so we didn’t rent a golf cart. We were happy it had plenty of space to store our clothing and a ton of hangers and hooks. The flooring was peeling up a little on some of the corners so we had to watch our step but other than that it was fantastic and well stocked with dishes, pans and books to read!! Thank you.

  I always enjoy my time in Myrtle Beach, been coming for 40+ years. This property was a little disappointing. The door is coming off the hinges, floor is uneven and has several soft spots, bathroom is incredibly small, especially for 4 people. On the plus side, heat/AC, TV/internet all worked great. For $1400 we were expecting a little more.

The furniture had been changed since the online pictures and was very nice. The Lakewood staff was very friendly.   We had a great stay in this villa. Bright, airy, room for all of us to stretch out. Very close to the indoor pool! And you can't beat the friendly atmosphere in this campground resort. We solved the smoke detector issue of reviews gone by, by bringing a fan to set on top of the microwave. Just needed some more air flow in that corner! All linens and cookware provided, very happy about that. The only issue we had were the palmetto bugs in the house. They come with the territory, I understand, but for the amount we saw inside the villa,( none in the kitchen, thank goodness!) I think it's time for another spraying. Would stay here again, with assurance of recent bug control visit

  The stay in this vacation rental was a good experience. It was a little it of a walk to the beach and longer from the water park, but still nice to stay in. There could have been some closet space or dresser in the biggest room to make staying a little more manageable. It was nicely decorated and even had beach toys for my boys to play with. It slept comfortably and it was a nice home away from home for a week. Would stay again.

  Location is the best thing about this rental. You are within walking distance of the pool and beach. The unit was clean and as described. Two issues I would have like to have been aware of: 1. Everything you cooks sets off the two smoke alarms. Literally, you can turn a burner on and before you put a pot on it, the alarms are going off. So, the whole time you are cooking, you are constantly turning off the two alarms. 2. The vertical blinds do not turn so you are unable to close them. Other than those two issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent this unit again.

  I am not the person who stayed in July, but his/her review was helpful so I will give an update based on points in that review.
  1) The unit was clean when we checked in except for some sticky spots on the floor in one of the bed rooms.
  2a) One light bulb was still burnt out. As pointed out earlier, it gets dark almost as soon as you can check in, so light is essential.
  2b) Still on the topic of light, there is no outside light. It would have been nice to be able to see the steps, door lock, stuff on the deck (i.e dropped keys), etc. - especially while moving in.
  3) Parking was fine for us. From the picture, you can see a bricked area in front of the unit. We had one vehicle that we parked lengthwise in that area. I saw cars parked like that at many of the units. We had enough room to fully open all doors, and were well off the street.
  4) We had no issues with the AC. In July it was probably 30 degrees warmer than October, maybe that was more than the AC could handle, or maybe it had been serviced, but we had no problem with the main unit staying cool.
  5) The oven set off the smoke detector each time it was used. The front left eye of the stove smoked as soon as it was turned on, so we avoided using that one eye.
  6) The sliding door still leaks. The previous review saved me from wet clothes.
  7) The unit had some games. That was a nice touch.
  8) Be careful with the hot water in the kitchen. It gets scaldingly hot real quick. Great for washing dishes, but hurtful the first time you use it and aren't prepared.
  9) The toilet tank arm had been repaired with a zip tie. Every flush, the arm would get stuck on top of the overflow tube, so you had to take the lid off the tank and fix the arm or the water would run forever.

  The unit was left dirty to the point it was like walking on the beach and the tub was full of hair and sand. I had to clean before unpacking. The room with sliding doors leaks badly that we were not made aware of during storms and soaked all the clothes in my bag. It also does not cool off with the rest of the unit. We had to replace light bulbs the night we arrived as offices were closed at 5 so we had to go BACK out just for light bulbs to see. I really feel check in and office closing times are bad as offices close an hour after check in leaving NO TIME to check in, and to be sure we have what we need. I'd appreciate a sooner check in time to be sure we are settled. We love lake wood and this year they started party at the beach and that was AMAZING I hope they keep doing that as well. A lot of units do not have room for parking, this unit is one of them. I feel if there is no room to park a vehicle, there should be FREE parking available for the units that do not have a parking space as there was NO WAY we could squeeze my small traverse between the units were it seems you could park or the front without being in the actual road and in the way. I am aware there is extra parking for a charge, but with the price of unit rentals, it should be FREE to the ones who do not have a parking space. The last question asks if I would recommend the property to a friend; I would if these issues are fixed and corrected. The leaking NEEDS to be made aware to potential customers as that was RIDICULOUS, FIX THAT! A CHEAP DUCT TAPE band aid will NOT fix that.. REPLACE THAT DOOR AND CALK the proper way! People pay good money to stay there and the owners are allowing this problem to ruin their unit further. That is poor ownership. ( 1. fix leak 2. be sure units are cleaned and maintained thoroughly 3. need parking) The ac unit was goofy shutting down on its own randomly and not starting back up without a lot of fiddling with it. We'd come back to a HOT unit. Needs service!
