  The unit is in a great location, but it could use some updates. The table on the deck was severely rusted, the ceiling fan hasn’t worked in years, and the deck itself is in need of paint or stain. Lakewood is a beautiful spot for a family vacation, but I was disappointed with how Bike Week was managed. Quiet hours are clearly marked as starting at 11:00 PM, yet my family and I were repeatedly woken up by bikers revving their engines at 3:00 AM. It's frustrating that golf carts have such strict rules while this kind of disruption is allowed to go unchecked.
  
  Additionally, several amenities had unclear or missing hours of operation. For instance, the Beach Bum Coffee Shop has no hours posted on the door, so it’s anyone’s guess when it might be open. The outdoor pool and lazy river area does have a sign with hours, but those apparently apply only to the pool—not the slides or the lazy river. According to the lifeguard, the posted hours didn’t cover those features, which was confusing. It would be much more helpful if all amenities had clear and accurate signage regarding their hours.

  Our accommodations at 2870 were more than expected. The fishing from our site was amazing. The grill that was on the deck came in very handy and an added benefit. The villa was in excellent condition and made our stay very comfortable. The only downfall was the size and location of the TV in the one bedroom. In all our 7 day stay at Lakewood was unanimously by all 6 members of our party a remarkable time and we shall return.

  We have rented out a few properties, and this one was the best. Loved the upgraded appliances, and space. Kids loved being near the lake. The only negative thing I have to say, is the mattress in the 'main' bedroom behind the kitchen was pretty awful. if this unit had a queen bed, I'd rent this over and over again.

  Overall the villa was nice, however the bed in the rear bedroom needs replaced. The mattress compresses to the middle and it's also very "crunchy", like sleeping on plastic. The TV in one bedroom did not work the entire time and the main TV in the living space did not work Sunday and Monday. A bit of updating would improve the stay for the next guest.

  We have loved coming to Lakewood Campground for years. We were advised check in was not until after 4 pm and we arrived around 5:30. We weren't exactly sure where to check in but after going to the front desk, to the guard shack, to LCR and back through the same points; we finally got our packet from the guard shack. However, the guard shack failed to give us our one day pass since LCR was closed. We then again had to go between the front desk and the guard shack as it appeared neither section/employees could figure out who was responsible. In my opinion once LCR closes, the front desk should be responsible so the guard shack can focus on traffic control/security. After resolving the confusion of check in, we then settled in our villa that was very clean and location was amazing. The only issue we found was that the refrigerator had a loud fish smell. We addressed the issue with LCR and they had housekeeping come out immediately to try to resolve the smell. Although they did resolve most of the smell, it still lingered and the refrigerator needed to be turned off so that it had time to air out. This was suggested at LCR but as the customer why do I have to address an issue and smell very our very short stay?? I hope that LCR did a recheck so that the next guest does not have to smell raw fish every time they wanted something to eat or drink. Overall we love Lakewood and will return in the future. Thank you!
